Overview
In September of 1988, Randolph A. Young began designing and assembling the fundamentals of an American-styled system of Karate. The purpose of the Art was to be self-defense. The basis was to be the requirements, concepts and principles of the bible regarding the protection of one's self and others. The result was Cha Yun-do and the Christian Martial Arts Fellowship.
By the spring of 1989, Mr. Young had established the basics of movement and techniques for this Christian martial art form including a preliminary set of choreographed maneuvers known as patterns. These were all stored on paper and / or computer disk.
While completing the remainder of the patterns through the requirements for Bo-Dan Black Belt, Mr. Young began a search for a location to teach the art. The initial introduction of the nameless art was at the salvation army in Detroit in 1990. The nucleus for what was later to become "Cha Yun-do" had, at that time, been completed and notarized for protection against infringement.
